It has always been part of Palm Resort’s effort in doing their part for the CSR projects. Aside to the annual festive celebration and giveaways, Palm Resort took the CSR project to another level. Three years ago, Palm Resort did their first Charity Run and it has become the annual event for the company. This year, aside to Palliative Care, The Befrienders Johor is also one of the beneficiaries. When Palm Resort first started the charity run, they chose the Palliative care as its beneficiary after they found out that the centre is serving the community caring for the terminally ill cancer patients’ free-of-charge. Whereas the Befrienders were listed as the beneficiary being a non- government organization actively helping people who are under depression problem and having the thoughts to commit suicide.

Palliative Care Association of Johor Bahru (PCAJB) registered in 2007 now has 250 patients under their care. Aimed to provide quality medical and nursing care to their patients, PCAJB would send its nurses for conferences and seminars. The Befrienders Johor Bahru
The Befrienders Johor Bahru is a non-profit community service and non-governmental organization (NGO) set up in August 2006. The community aims to benefit the society by improving people’s emotional health in order to create a greater sense of wellbeing. They provide a channel for people who feel sad, angry or depressed to share their feelings and callers can be rest assured that their details are confidential.
